The Three Broomsticks is quiet, I'm the first one here
It's just me and my book club all afternoon
Although I sure don't mind it, it's a strange time of the year
The students haven't been here for a moon
It's nice to walk the high street in the middle of the day
Without a crowd to navigate around
But how surreal it is with all the visitors away
The cobblestones make all too crisp a sound
(Chorus)
Not much has changed in the neighborhood
But in town, it's a whole different place
Peace and quiet will do me good
But it's strange in the empty space
Honeydukes is closed all summer; I sure miss my sweets
I stocked up, but my stash is running low
The owners like to write all summer, going on retreats
Maybe next year I'll ask where they go
But Madam Puddifoot's is open all through summertime
Book club held our meetings there last year
I visit once or twice a week; the scones are just divine
But soon there won't be space to breathe in here
Chorus
Until the seasons change, we'll have the tavern to ourselves
Our voices are the only ones to ring
Discussing and determining the books upon our shelves
But soon the train will roll on back to bring
A flood of faces gazing at our almost tourist town
And galleons and sickles to the stores
We'll find our old routine again when students come on down
And this table won't be book club anymore

This is a wildly uneven, unpredictable collection. And that is as it should be. From spoken word to rap to singer/songwriter acoustic to hard rock, this has at least one song for everyone. John Gaunt
